i was almost let go for being out sick, i just got over ovarian cancer and was told either go on medical leave or be here, if neither u cant work here. how do i redeem myself for being out sick? i know i have tons of doctors documentation and im going to be early and there everyday, but what else can i do? i wish i wasnt sick, but i feel bad about everything now..
How do you redeem yourself if you were almost fired?
Take the medical leave. You being there and being sick isn't going to make anyone happy. If you can provide adequate documentation from your specialists and doctors, you'll probably have no problems.
You know at the moment you have far bigger problems coping with the cancer and its aftermath, especially if you're feeling unwell.
Take the time off they've offered you. Find a support group to help you cope and when you're feeling better, no matter how long it takes , come back better than you were before.
Good luck!
Reply:If my employer wasn't understanding about something such as ovarian cancer (and you can back it up with documentation), then I'd find another place to work. Who wants to work for an employer who doesn't care about it's employees? I'd tell them that your skills %26amp; resourcefulness will be appreciated else where. If you go back trying to bust your butt then you'll just make yourself sick again.
Good luck!
Reply:Get involved in anything you possible can, and appear to be ready and willing to do anything, but, if you are getting a bad vibe, for genuinely being sick, then look for another job....Beware though, do not search for other employment while at work, they will know, also, Stay off yahoo answers!
Reply:you feel bad cause you just got over ovarian cancer? that doesn't sound right.
just work hard and show your employer you want to be there. if they're honestly questioning you trying to ditch work, bring in your medical docs. otherwise, just show them that you're there to work and that you weren't trying to cop out.
