What do Healthy people die from?

My mom smoked, drank, ate a horrible diet of fast food, and sweets. She volunteered in her community. She raised 2 kids. Had 11 siblings. She died of ovarian cancer, because it was hereditary. Not because of her diet choices, or other bad habits/behaviors. Health counselling for these behaviors would not have helped her. My biological father did not smoke, did not drink, raised his other kids, not me. He served his country. He worked hard, and cared about his kids. He died from cancer, from exposure to asbestos. Health counselling would have done him no good in his behaviors. My question is, why do you choose to be miserable, eating and doing things you wouldn't normally, to HOPEfully maintain good health, when you don't know what you will die from, that had nothing to do with what you eat, or how you exercise? What do healthy people die from? Thankfully, my cousins and aunts can have hysterectomys, or at least monitor their bodies accordingly. My parents should be here.

What do Healthy people die from?
i didn't realize my healthy and active lifestyle made me miserable. thanks for informing me.

i don't eat the things i eat and exercise as much as i do to avoid dying from one cause or another. the way i look at it, whatever kills me kills me, and that's that. how you die isn't always your choice, but how you live your life while you're still here IS your choice. i choose to live healthy because i like the way it makes me look and feel. maintaining good health isn't about avoiding death, it's about feeling good about myself while i'm alive.
Reply:If a healthy person dies, it is usually due to aging. The body simply can no longer support itself and things will shut down. If you're lucky, it happens while you sleep. The truth is, no person can maintain good health right up until they die. Death is the result of something within the body ceasing to function in a healthy way.
Reply:All people die from DEATH.

It's how well you live that matters when considering a 'healthy lifestyle'.
Reply:I guess I'm lucky, I actually enjoy excersise. I do eat too much though. Its true, you can do everything wrong and live and do everything right and die, you have to decide for yourself what's worth it. Don't knock your parents though, your father may have had a better chance against the cancer because he took care of himself - maybe he lived longer than he would have otherwise, or suffered less than he had to.
Reply:I live a healthly life for myself and ONLY for myself. I don't care how I look! Bottom line we all are going to die. I don't know when I will die or from what.

It's a choice I made, long time ago.
Reply:Hmm...well trying to maintain good health helps one to feel better overall. How do you feel after eating a grease laden meal as opposed to something healthy? How do you feel the day after smoking a pack of cigarettes (or more) versus not smoking any? How do you feel a day after drinking vs. teatotalling? How do you feel after a really good work out?

Yes, we're all going to die eventually...but we can do our part to cut down our risks of things such as lung cancer (and other smoking associated cancer), skin cancer (I've already gone round one with that), high cholesterol, heart disease, etc. And honestly, when you make healthier choices with the way you live your life, you typically will feel better overall. Who wants to go through life feeling crappy all the time?
Reply:I know what you mean, my parents should be here too. My father-in-law used to say, "If I had known I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of myself!" Sometimes life doesn't make sense. But the way we eat, excersize, the things we do, all affect how we feel and what we can accomplish in life. You probably have a great deal of insight that you can share with someone else who may be going through what you have gone through. Choose to live a healthy / helpful life. Good Luck, God Bless!! By the way...the # 1 cause of death in healthy young adults: accidents.
Reply:DNA, its already written in your dna what you will die from.
