Was Obama close to his mother?

I hear very little of her. The only thing I know is that she died at age 53 of ovarian cancer.

Was Obama close to his mother?
From about the age of 10, he lived with his grandparents, so he grew up with them mostly.

He does speak of qualities and characteristics of both his parents and grandparents.
Reply:When he was born they were very close.
Reply:He mostly talks about her in his books and at his rallys...
Reply:Who cares?
Reply:They were probably close. He was raised by both her and his grandparents. She's been dead for quite a long time now, hasn't she? That might explain part of why he doesn't talk about her a lot...
Reply:I would think so. It's characteristic of Blacks to actually care about their mothers.
Reply:are you close to your mother ??????

he talks about her in his books and campaign !!
Reply:Yes. She was very proud of her little boy.

Vote Obama
Reply:Judging from some of his writings they were very close. He doesn't talk about her death much as it is painful to him. When he was showed the cover of himself on Time Magazine he said, "I wish my Mother could see this".
Reply:He was primarily raised by his maternal grandparents.
Reply:He didn't like her... she was white...
