in 2 weeks why has so much ben thrown at my family and i? my uncle was in a coma after he contracted hepatitis A and had to have a liver transplant (he is awake and breathing on his own now) my mom has a dr apointment to check her out to make sure there is no signs of ovarian cancer, i got my car repoed a week ago and cant get it back till monday and i had planned on going home to see my family this weekend. My dad broke his arm at work and now they have him in the hospital doing a blood transfusion cuz his hemoglobin was really low. and they are going a catscan to see if its osteoperosis or cancer. if its cancer ill have an emotional breakdown. so if this is true about god, why does everything have to happen all at once? (im not a religious person, but i seem to be leaning more towards him for support)
They say god doesn't throw you things you can't handle then why?
So sorry for all that's happened. You are however leaning in the right direction.God wants us to throw the load on him and make it easier for us.Bad things happen to good people everyday. Now is when our faith comes in.We are being tested by Satan.Satan wants us to blame God and lose our love for God.But guess what! God is more powerful than the devil.Who do you want in you corner?Keep praying for strength. God will help you.Things will get better.Getting past these type of situations is what make you strong. You sound like a young person. If so then it's a good thing to start trusting in God early in life.
Reply:and you're surviving. Thank God!
In 1 month:
my grandma died
my aunt died
I got a bad 'result' from the doctor
a pop-up camper fell on my arm
I'm still surviving!
Hold fast....help is on the way!

Reply:To turn you to God so you can depend on him for strength and not yourself. He doesnt break you, but he does press you to turn to him.
Reply:God isn't responsible for everything that happens. He has a certain legality. if you don't serve Him, the devil has rights to you. if you don't serve Him faithfully, the devil has limited rights to do things to you. if you make bad choices, bad things happen.
if someone gets hit by a bus I doubt it was God who sent that bus. usually it's someone's fault, usually mankind's...
Reply:That is a TOUGH week.
It could be that he is trying to open your eyes to Him, or get you to turn toward Him through all this. But, that IS really rough.
I guess my only advice would be to read JOB to see someone who can really identify with what you are going through and how he reacted to it.
Reply:Yeah, the 'bold part' is nonsense. Just look at all of the people who've committed suicide because of tragedy in their life. Obviously they were 'thrown' more than they could handle.
Or even people hit with terminal illnesses out of nowhere. Obviously their death is a sign they didn't 'handle' them too well.
What a crock.
Reply:god lets bad things happen to you because he wants you to strenthen your faith in him if you have strong enough faith then you know that no matter what happends in your life he will make it all work out for the best pray and have faith things will be ok
Reply:that last statement says it all just maybe that could have something to do with all this...keep on leaning towards him for that support...don't get caught up in theology, just use your support for a source of strength
Reply:man I'm sorry for all the bad thing that are happening and i hope for the best for you and your family i hope everything turn out alright about two years ago my mom lost her house and everything turn out alright
Reply:Just keep leaning in the same direction---God will see you thru it. Lots of people have had troubles thrown at them like this---with faith it is easier.
Hope all in your family are going to be okay---you will be in my prayers.
Reply:God isn't doing this to you.It is life.We all have this happen to us during our lives.
Reply:Read the book of Job. He was stripped of everything but held onto his faith that God would provide for him. Because he was able to do so, God gave him everything back tenfold. If you are leaning on God, pray for the Holy Spirit to bring you strength and the calm to be able to deal with the pressures.
I will keep you in my prayers, have faith and all will work out.
Reply:God tells that it rains on the just and on the unjust. This means that we all have troubles. Christians have God to go to and to rely on when we have these problems. He help us through them by praying and asking Him to.
I'm so sorry for your problems. I am praying for your uncle's situation, your mom's cancer report, the return of your car so that you can go home to your family, your dad's catscan and your depression during all of this.
After reading your post, I am sure that other Christians are praying for you too. God wants you to come to Him too. You can do this by accepting His Son Jesus. Jesus is the way to God. He is here for you. May God bless you and your family.
Reply:God doesn't cause bad things to happen, but He does help you thru them, if you only ask. When He gave us free will, the exchange seems to be not interfering in our everyday lives, hence bad things happen. It's a strange fact of life that bad things and good things seem to happen lumped together. Personally, in my life its usually in threes. I'm hoping your family's bad things are comming to an end and the good stuff can start. Since your uncle seems to be recovering, that could be the start of the good stuff. Remember, He will help you if you ask. He'll give you the strength to get thru it. God bless your family and your good sense in turning to Him.
Reply:None of what is going on in your life has anything to do with God, because God doesn't exist. Stuff happens. Sometimes all the bad happens at once, sometimes all the good, but in either case it will be noticed because ordinarily there's a decent combination of both. I'm sorry that things are going so badly for you and your family right now, that has happened in my life too, but that's just life -- nobody is "throwing" anything at anyone.
Reply:The point is that many don't survive and they die due to needless illnesses, tragedies, violence and abuse. That is if there were a god it would be needless. But there isn't a god so things happen.
I am sorry for your troubles. Your strength comes from within and from the moral support of family and friends. These things are part of life. Try to enjoy every little part that you can.
Reply:Tell that to the guy standing in the path of the avalanche.
You know, I am sorry that you are going though a tough time, but you will come out at the other end, you will not die from this.
Think how lucky you are that you live in a technologically advanced society. That your uncle can get a transplant rather than die. That you can afford (just) a car, that your dad can go to a hospital and have his arm fixed and get help for whatever problems he has.
90% of the wold is not this lucky. Their uncle would have died, their father would be disfigured or possibly dying and the concept of traveling more that a few miles would be impossible for them.
Do not lean on god for support. There is nothing there. Lean on your friends and family. Let them lean on you too, together you are all stronger. Face your problems and deal with them, even if that is learning to accept our mortality.
Reply:They are wrong - see, they believe an all loving god exists, but can't resolve the paradox between that and bad things happening.
How about children who are raped and killed? Does god not give them anything they can't handle?
Read The God Delusion, understand what religion is, and be freed from it forever.
Reply:See a voodoo priest. There maybe a negative force clouding your environment
