Obama twists the truth?

i saw one of his ads and he said America's healthcare sytem is broken blah blah and went on to say that when his own mother died of ovarian cancer she was more worried about paying her healthcare bills than getting well.. NOW i find out she died in Indonesia.... What does THAT have to do with the healthcare system in America????? He's a real piece of work , using his dead mother and her agonizing death from ovarian cancer , to advance his own political agenda what a fake, I take personal offense to this, since i also have the same disease his mother died of.

Dude, I've listened to him...many times. And all he says is "We need change!" and point out some problems. I have yet to hear a solution. One thing I know - we will have change - having a Muslim as the president of a Christian (founded) nation.

Reply:Anyone that wants as much attention as he is trying to recieve is going to twist the truth. This is why I don't pay attention to the garbage. SORRY, I find it better to listen than to watch it sometimes.

Just because his mother died in Indonesia (assuming she did, I am not sure) doesn't mean there isn't any truth in Americans worried over healthcare bills. I think he was using her state of mind as an example for what a lot of Americans are feeling right now. How better to understand that frustration than to see it in someone you love.
Reply:I have not heard that but would not doubt it .If it's true people like you that research candidates is a good thing. Many people make their decision on Oct and Nov commercials and whoever their local newspaper endorses.

Reply:So would have the situation really been different had she been dying in America instead? If the answer is no, then it really isn't a big deal, he could be just pointing out why the issue is important to him. He doesn't actually say she was in America at the time. If that's the worse omission he's got going for him he's doing pretty good.
Reply:I think Hilliary should go with the fact that she is a known quantity and a good one for America at that. She is at present playing Obama's game and loosing.


I think America needs a safe bet like Hilliary at the moment, they need time to recover, they got really badly burned the last 8 years and if they get burned again it will be disasrous for the country. As a foreigner I can say 98% of foreigners now dont like americans and hate Bush.


What if they take another chance on an unknown and get another Bush baby. Obama sure can talk but you dont know what he is going to be like until you acctually give him the reigns of power. You already know what Hiliary is like.

On the Hillary issue over Health Care, She has tried for many years fighting for a proper Health care system,With her in the White House,when she knows the pitfalls that happened in the senate, it would be easier for her fix the problems.


I don't think people are thinking there strategies, out clearly enough. I think putting Hillary in the White House is the best advantage of the democratic party. I'd like to see Obama take a deal and go Vice President,with Hillary as President, That would be power, and would win the election against Mccain.imo.
Reply:Our country is the ONLY industrialised western country without a form of universal healthcare. If you really have ovarian cancer you would be a little more open to our health care system's problems. For instance, if you left your job and went to another, your insurance would not follow and you would have to pay for your care out of pocket unless there is a free clinic nearby.


What Obama is telling us is, if you are not affluent and have a debilitating disease, you are vulnerable to not having quality healthcare. The politicians who get their money from the big insurance companies keep telling us that universal healthcare won't work. They'll tell us anything in order to keep a strangle hold on healthcare so that they have a steady flow of our dollars coming to them.


If we want to change this system - we need to change the leadership in Washington. Clinton has been there for a long time and nothinng has changed.


The people know what they want. they want CHANGE! And Obama is the man to bring CHANGE to Washington for ALL the people of this country.

Reply:Maybe her disease was why she was in that country, you think? Many people like Coretta Scott King leave this country to get alternative treatment that is not authorized here in the US or affordable treatment.





My thought is how dare you use Obama's mother to further your bias. If I were you I would be concentrating on my healing and you won't get it by belittling another and being offended.
Reply:Obama's mother is a holder of an American passport. In other words, she is an American citizen and she is entitled to everything that any other American citizen is entitled to, no matter in which part of the world she may be located. Are you trying to say that an American citizen working as an embassy staff in Indonesia shouldn't be entitled to American health-care just because he/she is in Indonesia?.

Reply:Obama says whatever he can to please the American public, which sounds more like an inspirational speaker, rather than a presidential candidate simply because not rock plans come out. Shame on CCG. My husband and I make over $500k and that would hurt us more in taxes than it ever would her, but to save millions of lives out there is priceless.

As to twisting the truth... most people do to some extent or other. I am not aware that he said she died in America... only that she was deeply concerned by the expenses. Medical treatment anywhere in the world can be dear and difficult. Please do vote as you choose.
