Please help!! My hypochondria is taking over my life!!!?

Please help me! I am drowning. I have had hypochondriac tendencies since I was young, but since I had a miscarriage a few months ago it's gotten horrible. I have had terrible panic attacks where I feel like I'm going to faint, throw up, I sweat, sometimes have loose stools. I have also lost 18 pounds in the last few months. I always think I have cancer. This summer I was sure that 2 moles I had were melanoma. had them removed and biopsied- they were benign. I had a vaginal ultrasound at the ER when they diagnosed my miscarriage- they found a cyst on my ovary. Even though they said it was definitely a small normal and functional cyst, I was convinced I had ovarian cancer. I went back to the ER and my OBGyn 3 times and they have said I'm fine. Recently I have had indigestion %26amp; was sure it was stomach cancer. I can't stop looking things up on the net %26amp; it scares me to death! I have lost weight b/c of my anxiety (NOT hungry) %26amp; convinced myself it is cancer. PLEASE help me!!!

you need a shrink, however if you stopped eating all animal protein, your likelihood of growing a cancer way decreases. but that means eggs and most especially milk and all dairy.
Reply:Omg, souds very familiar to me...been there. Ok, first step is to calm down. Take a deep breath. You're fine. You've been to the doctors for everything, and you're fine. We know that now. Step two, DON'T LOOK THINGS UP ON THE INTERNET. That is from personal experience of endlessly for hours researching diseases on and offline, in books and so on. It will make your situation worse, you will know more, but not enough. First year med students often become hypochondriacs. So stop doing that unless you are going to become a doctor, it won't help. Third step, your stress (hypochondria) is causing your gall bladder to release excess stomach acids, which are upsetting your stomach and causing indigestion. See a stomach specialist if you have to. And the last step would be a preventative approach to disease. Instead of focusing on already having diseases, focuse on trying to prevent them, by eating healthy and exercising. If you do those then you won't have to worry that you're sick because you're immune system will be super duper if you're living well and not stressed out! So grab a yoga book from the library, and eat lots of beans, and grains and fruits and veggies, and drink lots of water. You're going to be fine. OK? :)
Reply:i can tell u it is physcological and can be treated with meds the diseases seem real actually have symptoms but is not, cancer is herediatary
Reply:It sounds to me as though you feel somehow, that your life is out of control or that your hypochondria is a symptom of some deeper emotional issue. You probably already have a tendency to be afraid for your health because of your grandmother's death, which is not unreasonable. However, when a person is suffering anxiety or panic attacks, they can become obsessed by fears that have become magnified. The key is to get emotionally healthy. Run, not walk, to professional counseling. In the meantime, practice ignoring your fears, no matter how hard it is. Continually encourage yourself that you know that this is not rational. Don't do anything to feed your fears, like looking diseases up on the internet. Be encouraged. This is completely treatable. Just hurry and get help and don't waste another minute of your life being controlled by this. Good luck to you.
