I had recently asked a question about my ovarian cyst. I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and the doctor discovered another cyst on my left ovary. The same ovary that had a cyst back in August on that had to be surgurically removed. The doctor looked at this cyst and saw little bump like matter in side the cyst where its only suppose to be fluid. So he doubled up my birthcontrol pills for 10 days and i went back and the cyst instead of shrinking it grew from 5cm to 8 cm. He decided that since this was the second cyst in just a couple of months and that medication doesn't shrink it that he would remove my ovary. He said that he if he just went and removed the cyst that i would be taking the chance of another one coming back. Also he is scared that this cyst if left alone might turn into cancer. The bad thing is that i'm only 19 and the thought of losing an ovary is scary. Does anyone know if this will lessen the chances of me having children one day.
Ovarian cyst?
Yes it will. Sorry to say that. If i were you, i would definatily see at least two more doctors for a second and third oppinion on that because that seems pretty outrageous that he wants to remove your ovary only after 2 cysts. growth or not. good luck
Reply:I THINK it cuts your chances in 1/2 becuase you ovulate from one ovary one month, and the other one the next....
So you maybe would only get your period every other month.....and if you keep ovulating from one side....you can still get preggers!!!
