Cancer and Ultrasound?

Can you detect Ovarian cancer STRICTLY from an ultrasound...would you be able to tell that you have cancer from a regular ultrasound?

Cancer and Ultrasound?
No. It would require additional tests, in particular a biopsy.

Also you need to be sure a radiologist reads your ultrasound. Today Ultrasound machines are found in many offices such as ob/gyn offices. While the staff there may be experienced at looking at fetal images, they are not trained to read for other things.
Reply:they should be able to detect a tumor ,but not if it was canceruos i am afraid
Reply:About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I was never given an ultrasound. MY O.B.G.Y.N. had to remove a piece of my cervix and have it tested. I don't believe an ultrasound could give a 100% accurate diagnosis.
Reply:A mass could be detected and a presumptive diagnosis made, but biopsy is the only 100% diagnosis.
