Ovarian Cysts?

hi there. Im 18 years old and, I am just a little bit worried about something. I have had cysts in the past as a child and had them removed... Now I recently I have been to see a doctor a clinic and he said there's a possiblity I could have it again, and after four weeks the symptoms have got worse... I have looked up on ovarian cancer and the symptoms are exactly the same; pressure or pain in the abdomen, pelvis, back, or legs

A swollen or bloated abdomen

Nausea, indigestion, gas, constipation, or diarrhea

Feeling very tired all the time.

I am so worried about this, because I have to go to bed at 7 or 8 as I get exhausted. I don't know how this came about. I have been issued an ultra scan but I am waiting for the department to give me an appt time.

Can anyone reassure me? have you had these symptoms? I don't want to get cancer. Why do i have all those symptoms?? Have you had them without cancer? help please.

Ovarian Cysts?
When I was 18 I had a cyst on my ovary and my ovary had twisted and swelled. I had these symptons and worse. Once my ovary swelled I vomited a lot. Then I went to the hospital. I didnt even know I had a cyst.

Dont jump to conclusions. I know the symptoms are similar but there could be a number of things wrong. Dont freak out.

It will be okay.
Reply:U need to go to a gynocologist and have them check u for endometriosis! My cousin has had alll these symptoms and she has endometriosis ! Look it up on goolge.com and see if any of the sysmptoms r urs as well. A lot of girls go on birth control to treat this disease!
Reply:Ovarian cysts can lead to numerous typical symptoms such as:

* Irregular menstrual cycles

* A constant or intermittent dull ache in the pelvic area

* Pain the in the pelvis shortly before the menstrual cycles begins and ends

* Pain in the pelvis during intercourse

* Nausea, breast tenderness and vomiting

* Heaviness or fullness in the abdomen

* Pressure on the rectum or bladder

But for a lot of women (in fact it is thought that up to 70% of women may have ovarian cysts) they are asymptomatic (that is, they do not cause any symptoms).

When they cause so much discomfort that you cannot live with them it may be suggested that if an ovarian cysts seems not to 'go away' (as they sometimes do) you might undergo surgery such as a Cystectomy (where they remove the cyst only) or in more extreme cases where an ovary is badly encysted - Oophorectomy - the removal of the ovary.

Naturally an Oophorectomy may affect fertility, although with a single ovary you will still produce eggs and hormones needed for maintaining a monthly cycle. But if both ovaries are removed due to cyst problems (such as happened to someone I know when she was 38) you are thrown full tilt into menopause, and it can be a difficult thing to cope with.

Some resources suggest that you might encourage the natural process of ovarian cysts diminishing, and shrinking to nothing through adopting some key strategies and some lifestyle changes. I feel it is preferable to surgery or drugs if appropriate for your case. This is well worth considering if there is still an option to avoid surgery and you feel you can give a natural remedy a chance to work. In depth details are outlined here:

I send you my heartfelt wish for a quick recovery
