my baby sister recently had a mammogram for possible cancer and she hasn't even gotten the results yet and her doctor called saying she needs a biopsy for possible ovarian cancer. she hasn't gotten any results yet and i tell her to be as positive as she can . some abnormalities turn out to be nothing . but i am so sad she just had her 21st birthday. how can she have so much burden put on her?i guess i am hoping one of you has a little story relating to my question that will make me feel better . if not ,thank you anyway ,god bless you
Have you dealt with cancer?
Gee!!!! sorry that you are in this horrible place they call not knowing and the fear of What If. firstly your sister is young so her immune system is in better shape than that of someone older, secondly if it is ovarian cancer they can remove the ovaries or use radiation. brest cancer nowdays has a really high success rate these things are the positives to look forward with love and hope that no matter what it will work out ok. There is never any unanswered prayer and I feel sure yours are being heard right as we post this god bless goodluck and let me know how your sister gets on
Reply:Please tell her a diagnosis of cancer does not necessarily mean a sudden death. As long as there is a breath in her body, there is hope. I am currently living proof. I was Dx with a double dose of cancers last July. It was found quite late. I am still here typing this to you :0) after finishing chemo and a bone marrow transplant....and my sense of humor is still intact :0)...along with my faith in God.
Reply:First off I would like to tell you how great of a sister you are. I can't tell you anything that will make you feel better about the situation. The only one who can do that is a doctor saying nothing is wrong. I hope it turns out to be alright. However, if it doesn't just stay positive for your sister it will help.
Reply:Even if your sister is diagnosed with breast cancer it is not the end of the world. I was diagnosed three years ago, had a lumpectomy (which at your sisters age is probably the best option) and even though the cancer was the worst possible I have survived. The families positive thoughts are the best therapy. Your sister may have to go through chemotherapy and radiotherapy (as I did) but believe me these are not as bad as most people make out. I am a lot older than your sister and did not find chemotherapy and radiotherapy that bad. Just give her lots of support and remember breast cancer is a highly treatable disease.
