I have an ovarian cyst. What should I expect?

My doctor told me that I (most likely) have an ovarian cyst. I am going in for an ultrasound to be sure, but my doctor is pretty sure what it is. What should i expect? Will I need surgery? Could i have ovarian cancer?

I am 15 years old. The cyst has been there for about 3 months now and i have had regular mentraul cycles.

%26gt;%26gt;All women have the cysts...some just become enlarged...I got them often..never had any treatment after ultrasounds..some need to be aspirate....some can burst...that is why you are going in to be checked...most go down on own...God Bless %26amp; good luck
Reply:Sometimes they go away with time, and sometimes they have to remove them. I have had several family members have them. The surgery is laser so there is minimal pain, and scarring. You are young hopefully they will go away. You just might be more prone to get them so the doctor will know to watch for them.
Reply:its not a cancer of any kind, and you should expect pain, and moodyness, and you will need to take medication, and i don't know about surgery, but you will most likely have it there, it won't effet child birth, nor any other form, and it will effect your sex life, because the male in the relationship can hurt or worsen the condition with his dick
Reply:I had an ovarian cyst 5cm by 4cm removed at age 29. It was diagnosed via a regular ob/gym exam. I had to have surgery to get it removed. The surgery was 4 hours long and the doctors did a laserscopy on me. Basically I had 3 incisions (one near my belly and two on each side of my ovaries. I was on pain killers for 3 days, and was told not to sleep on my belly for 2 weeks. I was also told not to stretch or do any sit ups. The healing process took a while, but for about a year or so, when ever I stretch to reach something I felt some kind of pain near my belly.
Reply:Ovarian cysts are small fluid-filled sacs that develop on a woman's ovaries. Most cysts are harmless, but some may cause problems such as bleeding and pain, and surgery may be required to remove those cysts. It is important to understand how these cysts may form.

Reply:If the cyst will ruptured you might have increased pain. Be sure you do not confuse this with appendix pain. You might be estrogen dominance. For more info see source.

EFT, emotional freedom technique, might be a good solution to deal with the pain.
